DAY 1: HISTORICAL LANDMARKS
Red Fort (Lal Qila) – 2 hrs: A UNESCO World Heritage site, this 17th-century fort is a stunning example of Mughal architecture. Highlights include the Diwan-i-Aam, Diwan-i-Khas, and the beautiful Rang Mahal. Arrive early morning to avoid crowds. If you come in the evening, take advantage of the evening sound and light show.
Jama Masjid – 1 hr: One of India’s largest mosques, offering a glimpse into Mughal religious architecture. Climb the southern minaret for panoramic views of Old Delhi.
Raj Ghat – 1 hr: The Mahatma Gandhi Memorial is located in a calm park that is ideal for introspection and tranquillity. If time permits, combine with a trip to the Gandhi Museum, which is close by.
